Very well received by end users; lead developer David
Shabazian was hired by the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG)
and is currently using UPLAN in SACOG’s applications. ·
Used in Espanola New Mexico and the surrounding 3 counties. ·
Used at the University of Utah to generate planning data for
both Salt Lake and Davis Counties. ·
Used by the Sierra Economic Development District (SEDD) for
habitat preservation and impact modeling of proposed transportation plans
in El Dorado, Placer, Sierra and Nevada counties. ·
Great Valley Center (GVC) rough growth allocations for 10
San Joaquin Valley counties. ·
Ducks Unlimited threats to habitat for both Yuba and Yolo
counties Tomorrow · Negotiating with CalFed for project to identify best wetlands for preservation in the CalFed region. · Proposed project with UCD’s Information Center for the Environment funded by CalTrans, EPA and Federal Highways Administration to use Merced County as a test location for GIS based early warning systems alerting users to problems arising from transportation projects. · Proposed project with Betty Decan at UCB, head of the UC Transportation Center to do a statewide demographic projection by census tract. · Discussions with the California Commission for Building in the 21st Century, a legislatively appointed committee, to develop a model that could project infrastructure short falls in the state. |
