Research:

James F. Quinn's fields of interest include conservation biology, biodiversity, biological inventories and monitoring; extinction, intertidal ecology, marine fisheries management, and environmental data systems.

Teaching:

EST 001. Environmental Analysis
Analysis of the biological, physical and social interactions that constitute environmental problems such as food production, energy development and conservation, pollution and the conservation of natural environments.

EST 123. Introdution to Field and Laboratory Methods In Ecology (4) III. Lecture-2 hours; laboratory-6 hours; two weekend field trips. Prerequisite: Statistics 13, course 100 (may be taken concurrently), or the equivalent. Course will introduce students to methods used for collecting ecological data in field and laboratory situations. Methods used by population ecologists and community ecologists are included and emphasis will be placed on experimental design, scientific writing, and data analysis.
