I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics and in the Department of Environmental Science and Policy at the University of California at Davis.
I am an economist with a background in both the natural sciences and the social sciences. I am interested in issues related to energy, the environment and natural resources. I enjoy working on projects that are technically sound, innovative, challenging, and that are of interest to academics, business practitioners and policy-makers alike. I would like to make a positive impact on the world.
In college, I pursued a multidisciplinary major in Environmental Science and Public Policy at Harvard University and wrote a thesis in atmospheric chemistry that culminated in two peer-reviewed journal publications. I continued at Harvard to pursue my Ph.D. in Economics and took my field exams in industrial organization and microeconomic theory (game theory and contract theory).
I am one of the seven economists selected to serve on the California State Controller’s Council of Economic Advisors. I am also the Fossil Fuels Tract Director of the UC-Davis Institute of Transportation Studies Sustainable Transportation Energy Pathways Program.
